Nine pages that founded a movement
In 2008, a document titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System” appeared under the name Satoshi Nakamoto. It is short, plain, and world-changing — and, crucially, it is openly licensed for distribution. That license, not any myth about Satoshi, is the honest legal foundation for reproducing it as art. Why drawn, not printed
The whitepaper is famous for being a plain PDF. The Satoshi signature — an obvious, honest novelty
For the collector who wants a wink, there is the Satoshi signature — a fictional, stylized signature rendered as an art piece. It is loudly not an autograph (Satoshi is anonymous; the mark is invented), and that is the whole joke. Presented as art, never as memorabilia, it is a piece of the culture’s humour done tastefully.
